Please comment and share good vibes with their girls!

Be still my heart! These four High School Seniors are ready to graduate and head off to new adventures. Less than a month from now, Tasha, Lexi, Lizzy and Maddie will graduate and go on to college and start new lives away from their family and friends. But for one afternoon we got to play and be silly and hang out! This photo shoot reminded me how it was to be young again. To be carefree and happy and enjoying life with no worries. There wasn't a lot of talking, the quiet spring afternoon was filled more with giggles and out-right laughing fits. The Minnesota spring breeze gently flowed across the golden winter fields, with spring sprouts just barely shooting up under our feet. The warmth of the sun was welcome, since our Minnesota winter had been a hard, long one, lasting until just the week before. Believe it or not, we had gotten over a foot of snow just a week before the photo shoot, our 5th biggest snowfall on record here in the suburbs of Minneapolis. Having kids of my own, I loved seeing the interactions between these four girls, friends for years. And to see their personalities slowly come out as they warmed up to me and my trusty camera. Lizzy...definetely the goof ball of the bunch, but Tasha, though she seemed quiet at first was the true giggler of the bunch! As their Senior year comes to an end, their young lives are just beginning. I hope to keep in touch with them and see how they find their paths and grow into amazing young adults. This was truly one of my favorite photo shoots and I will remember them forever!

Here are 5 great tips to get the Engagement photos of your dreams! No. 1 Find Your Dream Photographer
Deep rich, moody colors, light & airy photos, dreamy, black & white's. These are just some of the basic styles but each photographer will have their own twist. Next is pricing... Set your budget, so you know what your limit is. Be realistic though, if you go too low, you may not get the quality images you want. Be aware of how you will recieve your images. Some photographers have a low price and offer you 5 downloads and then if you want more images you pay a high price. Some will give you full rights to the images to do what you want with them. Others require you to print them directly through them. All of these are fine, it just depends on what you would like. Personality... Find someone you are comfortable with. If you are relaxed and laid back, a very energetic photographer may drive you crazy and you'll find yourself gritting your teeth. If you are outgoing and love to chat and get to know people, you may find a shy photographer isn't for you. You'll find yourself feeling awkward with all the silence. No. 2 Choose The Look That Fits Your Personalities
~ Does he play guitar for you? ~ Being Outdoors is your life? Is sitting around the campfire your favorite place to hangout together? ~Maybe you are big sports fans? Talk about these questions with each other so you can plan a great photo shoot that fits your personality. No. 3 Pick, Plan, Practice
Props anyone? A cute chalboard, sign, rope ( tie the knot), guitar, blah blah blah....Google Engagement Props and you'll get a million ideas. Practice... What? Is this like Studying? Well, kind of! If you have a good photographer, they will give you a couple standard poses to practice beforehand. Trust me...practice them. You will feel much more comfortable and relaxed and not have that awkward..."What do I do with my hand?" feeling the day of the shoot. If you practice your poses will come more natural to you during the photo shoot and by the time your wedding comes you will be a Pro!
No. 4 What is that saying? Location is key to the look you want. Talk to your photographer and discuss the setting you want. Do you want to be in a downtown area or a quiet, secluded field? Feel free to drive around and pick out a couple places and suggest them to your photographer. BUT... remember, they are the professional. They may give you reasons why a beautiful location doesn't work. Trust their judgement, photographers see things differently than you do. Lighting, background, elevation, elements...all play into a good vs. bad location. The Golden Hour! Photos can be taken anytime, but most photographers prefer the Golden Hour! About an hour before Sunset. The sun is getting low in the sky, has a pretty glow and you won't have direct sunlight above you, which can cause dark circles and shadows on your face. Plus you get hot spots (Those bright sunlight spots) on your clothes or one person and not another. No. 5 Have Fun & Relax awkwardness be playful. Laugh after you do it, giggle, talk as the photographer adjusts their settings, whisper in each others ear. If you have a good photographer, they will capture those moments too!! THOSE...My friend, are the photos of your dreams! The story behind these three photos is so cute! It was Jordan's idea. He had his hands in his pockets and pulled them out and said.."I want a picture of this! This is how my pockets are going to be by the time the wedding comes. " Brittaney giggled and told him...no no no! I told him...your wish is my command! and voila...the most adorable photos of them! See the whole Engagement Sessions of these two amazing couples!
